Derek Jarman (1942–1994) was a filmmaker, painter, set designer for theatre and film, memoirist, and a fierce activist for gay rights. His films include Sebastiane (1976), Jubilee (1978), Caravaggio (1986), Aria (1987), Edward II (1991) and Blue (1994). A Finger in the Fishes Mouth is published as part of the year-long celebration of Jarman’s life and work Jarman 2014.
